Prof. Peter Bauer, M.D., serves as CENTOGENE's Chief Genomic Officer, where he combines an extensive clinical and medical understanding of genetic testing with an excellent knowledge of the latest scientific developments.

Peter is passionate about turning medical questions into complete and fast analytical processes – ensuring that medically-driven results are brought to clinicians and patients immediately.

He received his board certification in Human Genetics in 2006 and previously headed the Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory at the Institute of Medical Genetics and Applied Genomics at the University Hospital Tübingen. Additionally, he is Vice President of the German Society of Neurogenetics (DGNG). Peter has authored more than 140 publications in Neurogenetics, Oncogenetics, Cardiogenetics, and Sequencing Technology.

Jorge serves as CENTOGENE’s Senior Medical Director. Bringing in over 15 years of leadership experience, he is responsible for overseeing policies, management, and regulations to drive clinical and operational value. Before joining CENTOGENE, Jorge served as the Director of the Molecular Diagnostics and Genomics Labs at CGC Genetics. He holds a medical degree from the University of Porto and is specialized in Rare Disease Genetics, Neurogenetics, Dysmorphology, and Molecular Genetics. Jorge is also the President of the Portuguese Society of Human Genetics.

Pilar Guatibonza Moreno is a Pontificia Universidad Javeriana alumni, having graduated as a Medical Geneticist in 2012. Following her studies, she dedicated her work to the care of patients with congenital anomalies and inborn errors of metabolism (IEM), obtaining clinical experience in several hospitals in Colombia, as well as the Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre in Brazil. During the Zika epidemic in the Americas, Pilar worked with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Tephinet in the United States. Pilar joined CENTOGENE in 2017 as a Clinical Genetic Liasion, where she focuses on clinical exome, whole exome, and whole genome interpretation. Her areas of expertise are dysmorphology, IEM, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), and data analysis.

Dr. Florian Vogel currently serves as the Chief Process Officer at CENTOGENE GmbH. Within his role, he holds disciplinary and budget responsibility for all five Diagnostic wet lab production departments in Rostock, Germany, and the CLIA & CAP lab processing facility in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In addition, he is responsible for the Method & Process Development in Rostock. Before taking on this position, he served as Senior Director Research & Development from 2015-2018 at CENTOGENE.

Florian has extensive experience in product development and streamlining of workflows for genetically based methods enabling the highest quality as well as high throughput testing. Florian has more than 10 years of know-how in molecular genetic assay design and international leadership in various industry sections.

Prior to joining CENTOGENE, he was living in South Korea to set up a local German branch university and labs for chemical- and bioengineering as Head of the White Biotechnology department, including lab build out and starting industry collaborations.

Florian studied Biology at Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nurnberg and received his doctoral degree in Molecular Biology with summa cum laude.

Aida graduated from the Institute of Medical Sciences, Santiago de Cuba. In 2004, she obtained her Ph.D. in Human Genetics at the Department of Clinical Genetics, Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. She received several grants and was a recipient of the prestigious Erasmus Fellowship in 2009. Major research accomplishments include the discovery of mutations in several genes causing congenital cardiovascular diseases, which led to new diagnostic tests, improved patient care guidelines, and major scientific publications. After 18 years of experience in academia, she joined CENTOGENE, where she now serves as Head of Research Data Analysis.

Carlos Juaristi-Manrique, specialist, completed his residency in medical genetics at the National Institute of Rehabilitation in Mexico City. He obtained the title of Specialist in Medical Genetics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and certified by the Mexican Council of Genetics since 2018 and is a member of the Mexican Association of Human Genetics. He is currently Regional Sales Director in Mexico.

Tobias Boettcher completed his internship in Neurology at the Dept. of Neurology, University of Rostock, Germany. During this time, he received a research grant from the German Academy of Natural Sciences Leopoldina, with projects at the Dept. of Physiology/Pharmacology, Karolinska Institute, and the Dept. of Neurology, University of Goettingen. In 2005, Dr. Boettcher received his Board Certification in Neurology, and subsequently worked for four years as a Registrar Neurologist at the Dept. of Neurology, Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Hospital, Neubrandenburg. Since September 2017, Dr. Boettcher has worked as a Clinical Neurologist at the Outpatient Medical Center of the Johanna-Odebrecht-Stiftung, Greifswald, at the specialized Outpatient Department for Neurogenetic Diseases and LSDs. Dr. Boettcher has co-authored 48 peer-reviewed scientific publications (19 in the scope of LSDs). Since 1997, he has developed vast experience in the field of LSDs through his work in patient care (outpatient departments), basic research (Neurogenetic Laboratory, University of Rostock), and diagnostics (CENTOGENE).

Angelo Lana is an experienced professional in commercial and product management for biotech sector with expertise in molecular biology and genetic diagnostics involving NGS sequencing, Microarrays, and high-throughput platforms for nucleic acids extraction or DNA amplification.

Multidisciplinary team leader coordinating and implementing new products in Brazilian market also implementing and conducting startups projects. Responsible for genetic diagnostic business in Portugal, France, Spain and Italy, with focus in molecular diagnostics in public or private institutes, specially via exomes or genomes sequencing with medical evaluation. He is currently the Regional Manager for Southern Europe at CENTOGENE.
