Chief Medical and Genomic Officer

Prof. Peter Bauer, M.D., serves as CENTOGENE’s Chief Medical and Genomic Officer, where he combines clinical and medical understanding in genetic testing with an excellent knowledge of the latest scientific development, based on his extraordinary experience, especially in high-throughput genetic testing using next-generation sequencing. He received his board certification in Human Genetics in 2006 and headed the molecular diagnostic laboratory at the Institute of Medical Genetics and Applied Genomics at the University Hospital Tübingen. Additionally, he is Vice President of the German Society of Neurogenetics (DGNG). Peter has authored more than 250 publications in neurogenetics, oncogenetics, cardiogenetics, and sequencing technology.

Dr. Eleni Perraki, PhD, joined CENTOGENE in March 2019 and is currently responsible for the product lifecycle of the diagnostic testing portfolio including exome and genome sequencing-based tests. She holds an MSc in Medical Genetics from the University of Glasgow and a PhD in Cancer Genetics from the Institute in Cancer Research in London, where her research thesis was focused on germline predisposition to breast cancer. Eleni’s motivation is driven by being part of the development of state-of-art genetics and multiomics diagnostic approaches aiming to deliver precision medicine and to contribute to better patient outcomes.
