CENTOGENE APAC Office Official Opening Ceremony in Taiwan

July 1, 2026

We had a wonderful time celebrating the official opening of the CENTOGENE APAC office in Taiwan!
Colleagues and friends from across biotech, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and more came together to mark this milestone and lay the groundwork for a stronger, more connected future in rare disorders diagnostics and solutions. This opening represents our commitment to the patients and families across Asia Pacific who are still seeking answers.

Opening Procession

The ceremony was opened by a heartfelt performance by Duncan Wei, a rare disease patient, life education speaker, and gospel singer. “You Raise Me Up” was sang beautifully through each melody, setting a powerful and purposeful tone into the room. Another special song written by Duncan himself, titled “Heart’s Wish (心願)”, was performed on stage. The melody was tender, and the room grew still. It was, in many ways, the most touching moment of the day.

Carrying the spirit into the opening, CEO APAC, Andy Chang, shared his vision of establishing Taiwan as CENTOGENE’s APAC hub, a strategic center to better reach patients and healthcare systems across Asia. He spoke about removing the barriers that slow the diagnosis process, and the unwavering commitment to delivering faster, more accessible solutions for families across the region.

North East Asia General Manager, Emily Liang, spoke about the same vision: building true foundation of CENTOGENE’s growth in Asia with genuine partnership. Collaboration with clinicians, research institutes, patient advocacy, and trusted distributors is not simply strategy, she said, but a reflection of the company’s core values. It is through these relationships that meaningful and lasting change becomes possible.

The sense of shared purpose extended well beyond the room, CENTOGENE’s global leadership team in Rostock, Germany, sent heartfelt congratulations and warm wishes, with messages from CEO David Jiménez, Chief Medical and Genomics Officer Peter Bauer, CFO Francisco Valor Martínez, CCO Víctor Llinares, and COO Alejandro Rincon — a reminder that this milestone is celebrated across the entire organization.

The same spirit of partnership was echoed by Juanita Chuang, General Manager of JW Diagnostics. She spoke about what drew her to work with CENTOGENE: a true partner who shared their mission of reaching patients who need answers. It was that alignment, she reflected, that made the collaboration feel meaningful from the very beginning.

Closing the speeches, Ruth Chen, Executive Director of the Taiwan Foundation for Rare Disorders (TFRD), brought both expertise and deep compassion to the stage. She reminded the room that for rare disease communities, a clear diagnosis is never just a medical result. It is a validation after years of searching, a direction forward, and above all, hope.

Ribbon Cutting

To officially mark the opening, the room came together for the ribbon cutting. CEO APAC Andy Chang, North East Asia General Manager Emily Liang, South Asia General Manager Dawood Babu Dudekula, Southeast Asia Business Development Director Tina Wan, JW Diagnostics General Manager Juanita Chuang, and German Business Alliance Events & Investment Promotion Senior Manager Sinan Ertugrul; all took part in this milestone moment. As the ribbon was cut, it marked a collective step forward for everyone who believes that every patient deserves answers.
