Rare Disease Day – Berlin
A Search for Solutions: New Paths for Early Diagnosis
CENTOGENE's Rare Disease Day Event 2020 takes place at the eWerk, a centrally located industrial monument in Berlin Mitte. Not far from Potsdamer Platz, the striking building represents the enthusiasm for progress in the early twentieth century on the one hand, and for the creative energy in the newly defined capital city at the turn of the millennium on the other. The former transformer station was built between 1924 and 1928 by Hans Heinrich Müller for Städtische Elektrizitätswerke AG. The expressionist brick façade conceals two large industrial halls, which hosted a legendary techno club in the 1990s and is currently used as a popular event venue.
