O m\u00e9todo utiliza um grande n\u00famero de pequenos trechos de DNA sint\u00e9tico que sondam diversos loci gen\u00f4micos dispersos por todo o genoma. A amostra de DNA alvo \u00e9 marcada e hibridizada com sondas de DNA depositadas em uma superf\u00edcie s\u00f3lida de microarranjo.
