Berndt possui vasta experi\u00eancia de mais de 25 anos em empresas de biotecnologia. Atualmente, atua como diretor e presidente do Comit\u00ea de Auditoria da Axovant Sciences Ltd., membro do Comit\u00ea de Auditoria da Affimed NV e vice-presidente do Conselho de Supervis\u00e3o e presidente do Comit\u00ea de Auditoria da Kiadis Pharma NV, todas empresas farmac\u00eauticas de capital aberto. Al\u00e9m disso, \u00e9 CEO e cofundador da Pharvaris BV. Anteriormente, Berndt foi Diretor Financeiro da Prosensa Holding NV, uma empresa biofarmac\u00eautica focada em novos tratamentos de modula\u00e7\u00e3o de RNA para doen\u00e7as raras, de mar\u00e7o de 2010 at\u00e9 seu IPO na NASDAQ em 2013 e sua aquisi\u00e7\u00e3o pela BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. em 2015. Antes da Prosensa, Berndt foi Diretor Financeiro da Jerini AG, desde seu IPO na Bolsa de Valores de Frankfurt em 2005 at\u00e9 sua venda para a Shire Plc em 2008.
