Rare Disease Day at CENTOGENE
Since 2008, Rare Disease Day (RDD) has been held annually on the last day of February. Bringing together physicians, patient organizations, researchers, medical companies, and of course, rare disease patients from around the world, RDD is a unique opportunity to raise awareness and bring support to the community.
Our rare disease day event in 2021 highlighted the novel problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the benefits of international diagnostic and research cooperation for rare disease patients around the world. With over 300 million rare disease patients around the world and a community of families, friends, physicians, and advocates behind them, we are here to raise awareness in the public and encourage health professionals, decision makers, and researchers to address the needs of those living with rare diseases.
Rare Disease Day 2021 – Digital Conference
Bringing together patients, medical experts, and advocates from around the world, our Rare Disease Day 2021 Digital Conference provided a platform to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on rare disease patients and how we can work together to help.
Showcasing work from filmmakers around the world, the Rare Disease Filmfestival aims to raise awareness of the unique challenges rare disease patients face.
Throughout the event, we provided a glimpse of the amazing work from our finalists, who have been selected from almost 3,000 entries – and a look into the inspiring lives of rare disease patients.
